OUR LOVE STORY
How we met
Shawn and Mollyn’s story began at an English camp in the Czech Republic. Mollyn had grown up there, camp was practically part of her childhood. Shawn was just a guy from Asheboro, North Carolina, who signed up to volunteer. They met that first year, but it wasn’t until the following summer that something deeper took root. That’s when Shawn fell... not just for her beauty, but for her kindness, strength, and joy.
After years of long-distance, time zone math, and too many tearful airport goodbyes, we’ve decided it’s finally time for a new chapter, one without all the goodbyes.
Fast forward to
We’re tying the knot outside in late summer (yes, it’ll be hot... hydration encouraged) at a stunning mid-century modern home built by the Sumner family. The coolest part? It was designed with a built-in wedding venue for their kids, and when they offered it to us, we jumped at the chance to be the first.
It’s a day that blends elegance with ease; formal wear, lawn games, and lots of love.
The proposal
On a surprisingly warm December day in 2024, I took Mollyn on a quick hike to one of my favorite spots, Little Long Mountain. As the sun began to set, I set up my phone to film our usual “fit check.” While we stood watching the sky shift colors, I got down on one knee. Just as I did, a gust of wind knocked the phone over.
So there’s no video, no photos—just a recreation, and a sweet, quiet moment we’ll never forget. It was simple, meaningful, and just for us.
